Fox: the right to lie

I recently watched the Documentary entitled “Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on the Media” which was quite informative, and amazing. It was a little lost on me to some extent, since I don’t own a television, but nonetheless, place great importance on the media. The following is from Project Censored 2005 - Story #11
During their appeal, FOX asserted that there are no written rules against distorting news in the media. They argued that, under the First Amendment, broadcasters have the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on public airwaves.
They won their appeal in Florida.
