WiFi Freeloading

So now that I am a WiFi freeloader, I have undertaken the research project. I found a post on Broadband Reports that scoffed at a confused freeloader who wrote a NYT article about her experience getting “kicked off” (or so she thought). The snobs at BR say she just misunderstood the technology and received an automatic message that was a little tricky, making it look like she had been caught.
Some of the sites I’ve found explain that freeloaders are not only loathed for stealing service that others have to pay for, but that they are (or should I say ‘we’) feared because of spy-abilities and network disruption potential. I don’t understand how internet cafes can make wireless connections available for all their patrons, but then not pose a risk to the providers via allowing the possibility of spying or network disrupting by so-called “unscrupulous users”. (I am quite scrupulous, thank you very much.)
