Mr. President, do you have an implant?
Published by michael October 5th, 2004 in politicsThis really would explain a lot. Speech patterns, mispronunciations of words out of his vocabulary, shifty eye movements, audience perception of pre-shadowed audio in a different voice. Thanks to boingboing for sharing this link:Is Bush Wired?: The Voice in Bush’s Ear
If Bush is using an audio prompting device, whether implanted or external, is an issue, but not really the most important one. I agree with the site’s author that it is unethical to be prompted when such prompting is not disclosed to the public, as it is with a teleprompter, but for press conferences it seems worse, since we are supposed to be understanding one man’s vision intelligence, and understanding.
In the case of the presidential debates it would seems completely dishonest, improper, and akin to lying under oath. Although I can’t say I’m optimistic, I sincerely hope that mainstream journalists will break the silence on this issue, investigate, and disclose whatever information they find.
