Where do you stand?
Published by michael October 8th, 2004 in politicsWhat do we disagree on really? Today I just learned that another friend of mine is voting for Bush. It baffles me that anyone would want to keep someone so dishonest, so elitist, and so fanatical. I just took a political survey, which determined through a quick 30+ question survey that I’m a socialist.
I’d like to print out the questions and assess the differences between myself and more conservative family members. I feel compelled to attempt to fathom my differences with those I love. GWB is as far from me politically as Hitler is from Gandhi. (I am basing this analogy purely on political stance, separate from those persons’ historical context).
Take the test if you have a second, and post your percentages in the comments section if you like. Here are mine:
This particular test uses some pretty loaded questions, as all tests must to some extent, but I suspect that my extremely strict interpretation of language, regardless of the gist of the tone may have bugged the results for me. Thanks to Saheli for referencing this test (post your results too eh?)!
It’s curious to note that those taking this test were overwhelmingly Kerry supporters, it’s interesting to note that there are quite a few extremely conservative voters who are voting for Kerry (evidenced by the blue specks in the red corner) and I don’t see any liberals voting for Bush. I realize that internet survey data is wildly inaccurate, but I would be really interested in seeing an accurate assessment of political crossover that is happening in this election, and if it is disproportionately conservative to liberal crossover.
