Round Two: Facts get even more slippery

So both the Bush and Kerry have been called on their distortions and lies. Factcheck.org (not .com) calls them on it: “Bush forgets he owns a tree-growing company. Kerry again inflates job-loss figures.”

Kevin Drum called Bush one very critical lie Bush repeated last night, that

Non-homeland, non-defense discretionary spending was raising at 15 percent a year when I got into office. And today it’s less than 1 percent, because we’re working together to try to bring this deficit under control.

It turns out, according to the Congressional Budget Office, it’s 8.2% Mr. President, and that’s the worst it’s been under the last six presidents! Go read Kevin Drum’s entry for a breakdown, and a nice graph.

But who’s counting lies? Which are the more serious ones? Follow some of these links, it seems pretty clear to me.
